A MESSAGE FROM OUR
Welcome to our website!
At Holly Spring Junior School our aim is to prepare the children in our care so they are well equipped to take their place in and make a significant contribution in their local community and the wider world. To act as global citizens and ambassadors highlighting the very best that Bracknell has to offer and living up to each of their truly special potentials. We aim to provide an aspirational and inspiring learning community where children can be happy and feel safe. We strive to provide our children with experiences that develop resilience, confidence and mutual respect.
Our vision is to ensure that all children experience a broad, balanced curriculum which prepares them for the future and to work with parents to develop well rounded characters who can cope with life in modern Britain. We are committed to providing a curriculum that is relevant to children in our community. We recognise the importance of your child mastering skills in English and Mathematics, whilst developing personal and social skills.
We believe in healthy competition; that children should be prepared for the outside world knowing that success isn’t a given and that practise and perseverance are desirable qualities. To facilitate this, children are encouraged to attend sports tournaments, sports festivals and also enter a variety of academic competitions including artwork, poetry and writing.
We are committed to being a Rights Respecting School which means that we actively promote the rights of all children as directed by the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC). Our School Charter and behaviour management system is heavily influenced by this. We have an inclusive ethos and strive to respect each other’s differences. In addition, we put a very strong emphasis on the importance of staff and children living out the values of the school through their everyday behaviours and actions. We call this ‘Holly Spring Spirit’ and you can feel it in abundance as you walk around the school.
We see values as an essential element of building strong individuals and communities and believe strongly in developing a positive working relationship with you, as parents, to benefit your child’s learning. We need your help, co-operation and partnership. You are welcome to come into school to share in what we are doing and if this website leaves you with unanswered questions, do please contact us. My staff and I are happy to meet with you.
Thank you for your continued support.
Mr J Lacey, Executive Headteacher
